New Tata safari storme is based on the new X2 platform of Aria.Tata hasn’t changed much on styling.But there are changes.One of the big change from the old safari was the spare wheel is now placed under the body earlier it is placed on the rear door.Tata has given lot of chrome outside.Chrome is used in the grill and mirrors.which given new storme much more upmarket look.Tata has given beige leather upholstery for the interiors.Tata has offered AC vents for all the rows.
Tata launched Storme with 4 variants.LX,EX,VX 2 WD and VX 4 WD.On the top end variant you get the option of both 2 WD and 4 WD.Tata has given Electronic shift on fly which enables you to shift between 2 WD and 4 WD on the fly.Tata safari storme offers 200 mm of ground clearance.
Tata has given so many features on the top end VX variant.Reverse camera with display on the inside Mirror,Anti glare rear view mirror,power mirrors,power locks,music system with USB,Bluetooth and i-pod connectivity,ABS,EBD and Dual Airbags.Tata safari stomre is available in 6 colors.Pear white,Pure white,Red,black,bronze and champagne.
Tata safari storme is powered by 2.2 L 16 valve Dicor engine which makes 140 PS @ 4000 RPM and Torque of 320 NM @ 17000-27000 RPM.These engine is mated to a 5 speed manual gearbox.2 WD variant gives 14 Kmpl while the 4 WD variant gives 13.2 Kmpl under ARAI.
